Original ( NOT reproduction) oil on canvas painting by world renowned Italian artist Raffaele Frigerio (Born 1875-1948) circa early 1900's. Well taken care of oil on canvas painting of 2 Scugnizzo peasant boys (Scugnizzo in Italian language is a boy who has fun with other friends, spending a lot of time among the streets (vicoli) of Naples.
The painting is in very good condition and comes in its original gold gilt gesso frame. It is signed by the artist in the top left corner (see pictures). The picture hanging wire on the back needs to be redone. The painting is on canvas but has a board on the back protecting it from puncture. The canvas painting is NOT laid down on the board.
The VIEWABLE image measures 15 1/4" (38.7 cm) wide
and 11 1/4" (28.5 cm) tall.
The ACTUAL painting size, including its stretcher, measures 17 3/4" wide (45 cm) and 14" tall (35 cm).
The size of the frame measures 21 1/4" (54 cm) wide and 17 1/2" (44.4 cm) tall.
The gesso frame has some wear and small chips to the frame but mostly all intact with wonderful detail. The painting itself is quite bright but may need some cleaning. It may have been possibly varnished at one time.
